Camp Half-Blood Series/Percy Jackson Books (Rick Riordan)
The Princess Bride (William Goldman/St. Morgenstern) |
||||
Best. Book. Ever. For those of you have seen the movie, I can testify that the book has everything the movie has plus more. Not to mention it is ten times funnier. I thuroughly enjoyed it. One note of interest: William Goldman is full of Bogus. Why, you ask? Because he claims to be the "abridger" of The Princess Bride, but the truth is that he wrote the entire thing. If you read the introductions, I think it is safe to say that most of the stuff he tells you about never happened. St. Morgenstern never existed, The Princess Bride never actually happened, and no matter what William Goldman says, there was no book before he "abridged" it. I have no idea why, maybe he just enjoys messing with people. It will make a lot more sense if you know that.

Suggested audience: Everyone. If you cannot read, have your grandpa or someone read it to you. Nobody should miss out on this. Genre: Fiction (No matter what Goldman has to say about it.) Summary: Epic love story of Buttercup and Westley and their endeavors to escape Prince Humperdink to be together. Really funny. # of pages: 358 |
